Hershman has written multiple thought-leadership pieces, and is an authority on relating process to modern-day issues. In 2010 she was featured in Businessweek, where she covered the 2010 egg recall and the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill. In her article “The Seven Sins of Performance Measurement,” Hershman discusses the importance of performance metrics and how focusing on the wrong metrics can hurt a company’s efficiency. Similarly, in her “Top 5 Business Blunders of 2010” on, Hershman recounts the five businesses that suffered huge losses as a result of ignoring core business principles.

When the U.S. Postal Service reported historic losses and budget cuts in 2010, Hershman appeared on Fox News Live to discuss the problems and potential solutions for the crisis. She was also featured as an op-ed contributor on, in which she discussed the importance of incorporating customer service into process for organizations to run successfully.

More recently, Hershman gave an update on the USPS issues as a featured guest on America’s Radio News Network.
